Waterford Days  Waterford Days  Waterford Days

For many years, Waterford, PA has celebrated its heritage with a three-day event held the third full weekend of July, that includes a Friday.

Waterford Heritage Days began in 1974 under the guidance of Ginny Bullman, Zona Miller and the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society. In those early years, much of the community and the crafters, dressed in pioneer garb to add to the event. Over the years it has been organized by, to name just a few, the Historical Society, Sharon Mitchell, Judy Nelson, Millie Fiske, WABA, Edna Hawley, for 11 years Benny and Darlene Hunt. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all who have helped build this event over the years. Although the name has changed, the intent is the same, volunteers coming together to celebrate our community.

In 2013, the former management (who has worked very hard for many years) decided for a variety of reasons they were done. At that time, a group of hardworking volunteers including: JoAnne Lenart-Weary, Heather Waite, Judy Nelson, Jake Banta, Vicki Cuic, Kimberly Stebick, Marlene Lewis, Paula Harris, Jeffrey Herman, Daniel Ward, Terri and Rich Goodenow, and Kathy Williams, stepped up to make sure this event didn't fall by the wayside as it represents so much of what is good about living in a small town. Because the name was owned by the former group, there was a name change to "Waterford Days." No politics, no animosity, nothing but a group of citizens wanting to make sure this celebration was not lost. Please help us spread the word, it may not be called Heritage Days, but there will be partying in the park and all around town! Join us and invite your friends!

For 2014 and future years, the Waterford Days Committee, under the direction of the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society, will be organizing this event. The event will be no different in the sense that it will be held the usual weekend. However, the Waterford Days committee working in conjunction with the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society will bring a modern twist to the weekend's festivities. Don't get concerned . . . the history that makes Waterford significant will still be honored.

This event brings together community associations, booster clubs, and non-profits for a chance to build their coffers with the sale of great food, fun games, and raffles. Add to that the fabulous craft show featuring quality, hand-made products, and the annual antique show. The entire town typically turns out with community wide yard sales and so many other events. While strolling through the quaint park in the middle of town, you will also have the pleasure of talented, diverse entertainers performing in the Gazebo. The event will even include dancing in the street with live music, courtesy of the Stancliff Hose Company, Waterford's volunteer fire department.

Join a community that loves the heritage of its historical town while appreciating today's modern amenities. Look for new twists to old events, plus a variety of interesting and interactive things for young and old.

Quality crafters, re-enactment groups, antique and classic car groups, and area non-profits and booster groups are all encouraged to join us.
